Boardman police arrested a woman Wednesday after they say she tried to leave a Boardman nail salon without paying and punching an employee.

The incident happened at Queen Nails on Market Street around 5:45 p.m.

Boardman police initially responded to reports of a fight.

According to a police report, 23-year-old Courtney Bowersock approached police in the parking lot of the salon and said one of the store employees had assaulted her.

Police noted Bowersock's left hand was bleeding.

A Queen Nails employee told police Bowersock tried to leave without paying after complaining about the services she received for her nails for hours.

The employee said she asked Bowersock to pay $10 for the nails when Bowersock punched her in the face, breaking her glasses.

Bowersock told police that the employee blocked her from leaving the nail salon and shoved her.

Bowersock told police she feared for her safety after being restrained by other employees.

Witnesses inside the salon told police the employee was trying to prevent the theft.

Bowersock was arrested and charged with robbery.

She currently being held in the  Mahoning County Jail.
