The Youngstown State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Wednesday that Stambaugh Stadium is scheduled to return to full capacity for the 2021 college football season.  This follows the recent announcement from Governor Mike DeWine ending Ohio's coronavirus health orders.

"We have a great fan base here at YSU and they are truly excited to return to Stambaugh Stadium this fall," Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Ron Strollo said. "Our staff has worked with Health Commissioner Erin Bishop at the Youngstown City Health Department along with state and campus officials to prepare our stadium.  We are excited to welcome our fans back for a hard-hitting home schedule."

The 2021 home opener against Incarnate Word on Thursday Sept. 2 marks the Penguins' 40th season on Beede Field.  Penguin Club chairback season tickets, reserved season tickets and tailgate permits are available through the Athletic Ticket Office by calling 330-941-1YSU (1978) or in person at the Ticket Office weekdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Individual game tickets are set to go on-sale to the public starting Monday, Aug. 9.  Student tickets will be available starting Thursday, August 26 at the Stambaugh Stadium Ticket Office and are free with a valid YSU ID.

The Penguins also host Western Illinois on Sept. 25, Missouri State on Oct. 9, South Dakota State on Oct. 30, and North Dakota State on Nov. 13. The Missouri State game marks the annual Homecoming game on campus, while the North Dakota State contest will be Military Appreciation & Senior Day.
