BROOKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A grand jury in Trumbull County has indicted the former office manager of a Brookfield Veterinary Clinic accused of stealing nearly a quarter of a million dollars from the business.

Tracey Obermiyer, 51, of Brookfield is charged with grand theft, forgery, and two counts of identity theft.

Police say Obermiyer pocketed funds from the Village Green Veterinary Service beginning in 2017 until she was fired in January of 2019.

Obermiyer is also the defendant in a civil lawsuit filed by the clinic alleging that used $243,000 of the business's funds to pay debts and other personal expenses.

The court has scheduled an August 4 arraignment on the indictment.

In 2012, the Ohio Auditor’s office ordered Obermiyer to repay more than $4,900 illegally spent before resigning as treasurer for the Liberty School District.
