Police investigate Perry Township condo after suspicious death

Perry Township police responded to a call Friday reporting a suspicious death of an 85-year-old woman in a condo on Somerset Drive in Salem.

Upon arrival to the scene, police contacted the Columbiana County Prosecutor's Office and the Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) to assist with the investigation. 

Police determined that the incident was confined to the inside of the condo and that nothing happened outside. There is no sign of forced entry and the house has not been ransacked.

Police say they are working to determine whether or not this incident was a homicide or if any foul play was involved.

The woman's body will be sent for an autopsy on Monday to determine the cause of death.
