East Liverpool Hospital reports 16 unvaccinated out of 19 COVID admissions

East Liverpool City Hospital is letting the public know how vaccinations can help keep people from becoming very ill from COVID-19.

The hospital this week began using its Facebook page to post the number of patients admitted for the virus, and how many of those people have received full, or partial vaccinations.

As of Wednesday, the hospital has 19 admissions for COVID.  Sixteen of those were unvaccinated; two were partially vaccinated, and one was fully vaccinated.

The Facebook page also has notifications that the hospital’s COVID-19 Testing Center, located outside the hospital’s main entrance, is now open Monday to Friday from 3 PM to 7 PM.  No appointment or physician order will be needed to obtain a COVID-19 test.

The Columbiana County Health District is sharing the hospital’s information along with a link where people can find vaccination locations.

The East Liverpool and Wellsville area zip codes have some of the highest per capita COVID rates over the past two weeks.

The Ohio Department of Health reports that the 43968 Wellsville zip code has 1,594 cases per 100,000 population, which is the highest in Columbiana County.

The 43920 East Liverpool zip code area recorded 974 cases per 100,000 population during the latest two weeks.
