The Village of East Palestine has joined the growing list of Valley communities now adding a Disc Golf as a recreational option.

Village leaders say throughout 2020, the Park Board and Village Manager worked closely with an architect to design a course that was both fun and challenging.

They say the goal was to create a course that was enjoyable for new users, yet challenging enough to attract more seasoned players.

Funding of the course was a team effort. In 2019, the Park Board intensified their fundraising efforts and with help from the East Palestine Community Foundation, the East Palestine Masonic Temple, and the East Palestine Eagles, they reached their goal.

Officials say the course has already received regular use with as many as 100 players using the course in single day, and they say even on the snowiest Winter days many faithful users come to the course.

The Village will celebrate the opening of the course with an official ribbon cutting on June 11th at 11 a.m. The ceremony will be held at the Don Smith &
Veterans Memorial Gazebo, East Palestine City Park, 31 Park Ave.

Those interested in utilizing the course can visit the East Palestine City Park during regular park hours: Dusk to Dawn.
