One year after opening, owners of the OH Donut Co. have announced the closure of their location in Downtown Youngstown.

When One Hot Cookie closed its downtown store because of the pandemic, owners rebranded the business as OH Donut Co.

On May 15, 2021, the Giordani and Rubino families started making 18 varieties of donuts, as well as breakfast sandwiches at 112 West Commerce Street.

The company announced on Facebook Friday that they have now decided to shut down the downtown location, claiming that the business district has not recovered from losses suffered in 2020.

“It’s a continual struggle for city support with signage and communication about road closures, detours, and improvement projects that impede customer access,” according to the social media post.

The company post says the location at 1315 Boardman Canfield Road remains open and there are plans to open a location at 101 S. Main Street in Poland later this summer.

In addition, the Donut Trailer will still be available for private events and parties.
