With inflation still on the rise, families' wallets could be taking another hit while out shopping for school supplies and back to school clothes.

However, that pain can be reduced slightly during the weekend of August 5 through 7 as Ohio celebrates its annual tax holiday.

During this weekend, items of clothing priced at $75 or less, school supplies priced at $20 or less and school instructional materials priced at $20 or less are all exempt from sales tax and use tax.

Items that are used in a trade or business are not exempt from this tax.

This exemption will be in effect from Friday, August 5 at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, August 7 at 11:59 p.m.

The tax holiday will include both in-store and online purchases. All vendors across the state of Ohio will be participating in this event.
