If you're searching for a job, in a dead-end job, or just ready for a career change there are opportunities you can take to change course.

The Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition has almost one million dollars to train or up-skill workers for the manufacturing jobs of today.

The MVMC is one of 32 to get a grant out of 509 applications. The MVMC model is gaining attention and becoming a model for other areas across Ohio.

There is so much investment and modernization in automation and technology the facilities are clean and bright. They are not the factories of your grandfather's day. There is also an emphasis on safety and training.

The MVMC works with companies so training is tailored to skills they need for jobs currently available.

"We have designed the program to be quick and easy, and free to individuals who are taking it. Our manufacturers are basically guaranteeing interviews and placements for all successful completers so in a matter of six weeks you can have the basic foundational skills to be successful in entry-level positions and a career coach that will help you not only be successful in your first job but think about what's the right next step and what skills you need to reach that goal," emphasized Executive Director Borza.

"All of our member companies are listed on our site. There are small, medium, and large companies across three counties, and a variety of work. They all offer great benefits, paid time off, great pay," said Borza.

The program is for residents in Mahoning, Columbiana, and Trumbull Counties.
