A Warren man is under arrest, accused of repeatedly beating his brother with a baseball bat.

On Thursday, 38-year-old James Cummins surrendered to police who have been looking for him since July 1 when he allegedly assaulted his 37-year-old brother at their Nevada SW home.

According to a police report, the siblings were arguing about money when James Cummins got an aluminum baseball bat from the basement and struck his younger brother when his back was turned.

The younger Cummins told officers that his brother struck him several times on the head and body before he was able to get out of the house and drive away.

The victim went to a local business where he met with police and an ambulance crew.

Taken to St. Joseph Hospital, the victim was treated for a gash at the base of his skull.

James Cummins is scheduled to appear via video in Warren Municipal Court on Friday to answer a charge of felonious assault.
