Main Street in Columbiana will soon transform into a fairground again for the 135th Columbiana Street Fair starting Thursday, September 8.

Folks can enjoy rides, fair food, a parade, and more throughout the weekend. The fair will run from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday, and noon to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday.

There are two options for parking. Guests can either park for free in a shuttle parking lot and have a shuttle pick them up and take them to the fair or pay to park closer to the fair.

A map below will show all parking locations. Green locations are free shuttle parking lots, yellow locations are paid lots, and the red squares are shuttle pickup and dropoff locations.

The annual parade will kick off at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday and will be led by the Columbiana American Legion Post 290 Color Guard. Dozens of veterans, civic, volunteer, and church organizations will march in the parade.

Additionally, 100 classic cars will be driving by, with drivers throwing out plenty of candy for children. Several local fire departments will be showing off their new engines as well.

Friday at noon will be Special Needs Day. Each year, special needs students are invited to private time at the fair with a free lunch and unlimited rides for free.

For all the photographers out there, every year, the fair hosts a photo contest for amateur photographers. Photos taken for the contest can be in black and white or color, provided they are entirely original and are between the sizes of 8x10 inches and 16x20 inches.

Prints must be mounted on a double-weight mount board with a securely mounted wire hanger or encased in a rigid frame with an attached wire hanger.

All entries not meeting any of these above criteria will be disqualified. The entry fee is $5 per photo.

For more details on the contest and to enter, click here to print and fill out the entry form.

Alternatively, you can pick up an entry form at the Columbiana Public Library or the Columbiana Chamber of Commerce.
