Covelli Enterprises will be launching its annual pink ribbon bagel campaign on Saturday at seven participating Mahoning Valley locations in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Throughout the month of October, a portion of the proceeds from the pink ribbon bagel sales will go to the Mercy Health Foundation in support of the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center (JACBCC).
Pink Ribbon Bagel along with other company fundraising efforts has allowed Covelli Enterprises to donate over $6.5 million in support of local breast cancer programs in the communities it serves.
Funds donated to partner organizations have been used to open new comprehensive breast cancer facilities, purchase mobile mammography units with 3D technology, develop education and outreach programs, provide transportation and assistance for those undergoing treatment and support life-saving research for advancements in cancer treatment.
Covelli Enterprises CEO, Sam Covelli says the pink ribbon bagel is more than just a delicious treat, but a chance to help fight breast cancer.
"Every year we ensure the funds raised go back to local breast cancer programs and services in the communities we serve. The success of the pink ribbon bagel campaign is due to our loyal customers and employees," Covelli said in a news release.
Panera encourages customers who order a pink ribbon bagel to take a photo with it to share their support for the cause on social media with the hashtag #morethandough.
You can purchase your pink ribbon bagels at any participating Mahoning Valley Panera location for both dine-in and drive-thru, as well as online and via the Panera app.
