SR-170 in Unity Township reopened after two-vehicle injury crash

Two people were flown by helicopter to Mercy Hospital after a two-vehicle crash that shut down Route 170 in Columbiana County on Monday.

The road has since reopened as of Monday afternoon.

The collision happened just after 7:30 a.m. near Dickson Road between Unity and East Palestine. 

One of the sport utility vehicles rolled over and landed off the road.  Both vehicles were heavily damaged.

First Responders had to rescue victims who were trapped in each of the SUVs. Dispatchers say their injuries were non-life-threatening.

21 News is working to learn the names of the victims.

State Troopers are working to find out how the crash happened.
