Ohio Governor, Mike DeWine has announced a new online resource for HAZMAT training for local first responders on Friday.

According to the governor's daily East Palestine update, the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal in partnership with the Bureau of Workers' Compensation, PUCO and the Ohio EMA developed a new website that compiles all known first responder training in Ohio.

The resource was developed in response to the recent train derailment disaster in East Palestine back in February in order to ensure a singular depository for HAZMAT courses that train firefighters in responding to derailments and other emergencies.

The trainings are free to first responders thanks to state agencies and industry partners. Some coursework is online.
