26 Year old James Schreckengost of Sebring has been charged with two counts of domestic violence and one count of felony aggravated possession of drugs two months after his arrest.

Sebring police arrested Schreckengost in June after receiving a report that he had burned and beaten his girlfriend on multiple occasions.

According to the Sebring Police report, the victim reported being struck on several occasions by Schreckengost, who had a "pattern of controlling behavior, including James not allowing [the victim] to leave the house without his consent."

It was after leaving the house without Schreckengost's consent that the most recent altercation occurred, according to the report.

A week prior to that, Schreckengost allegedly burned the victim with a "dab pen," leaving two half-circle marks on her thighs.

The report says Schreckengost was "continually making threats to harm himself as well as her. According to [the victim], James constantly makes threats to kill himself, with him also having told her that he will kill her and that her daughter doesn't need her mother."

Schreckengost was a familiar face to the Sebring police, having been arrested in 2020 and charged in 2021 with Gross Sexual Imposition after attempting to have sex with a 16-year-old he had just done drugs with.
