Gov. Mike DeWine will discuss details of a statewide plan to support local law enforcement agencies with intelligence gathering and forensic evidence examination tied to violent drug-related crimes on June 22.
DeWine will outline the plan to law enforcement professionals attending the Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center's (ONIC) Law Enforcement Drug Summit in Columbus at 8:00 A.M.
ONIC was created in 2019 to assist local authorities in unraveling complex drug trafficking investigations through analysis of cell phones and other electronics.
To date, ONIC teams across Ohio have assisted local law enforcement with more than 3,200 criminal investigations and have examined evidence contained in more than 7,500 cell phones.
