A judge has set bond at $100,000 for a 23-year-old man accused of shooting a 23-year-old woman at their Liberty Township home.

Isaiah Garcia pleaded not guilty to charges of felonious assault and using a weapon while intoxicated during his arraignment in Girard Municipal  Court on Wednesday.

Police were dispatched to a home on Ohio Trail just after 1:30 p.m. Sunday to investigate a reported shooting.

The gunshot victim was found in the home's living room and was taken to a hospital where she was listed in stable condition.

Garcia was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Trumbull County Jail.

Neighbors told 21 News the two lived in the home together with the woman's grandparents.

"I was just sitting out on the patio and all of a sudden, we see police cars," said Jason Mauro of Liberty Township. "It's kind of unusual but people have been lighting off fireworks all day. So we didn't think anything of it, really."

Mauro lives right around the corner from where the shooting took place. He said his neighborhood is always quiet and doesn't view the area as unsafe.

"Nothing like this ever happens here," Mauro added. "This has got to be an isolated incident. I hope everyone's okay. But, no, nothing like this ever happens here."

Ohio Trail neighbors told 21 News they know the woman's family well and view this as a difficult situation.

They also believe their home and street are not a target for crime.
