Frustration looms among residents of East Liverpool as they grapple with persistent flooding problems.
In a bid to address the issue, local officials will convene a meeting Friday afternoon at City Hall.
The gathering, scheduled for 4:00 p.m., aims to bring together affected residents from the flood-prone area, with hopes of engaging both the Mayor and the Safety Director.
For approximately five years, discussions have been ongoing regarding potential solutions for the flooding predicament plaguing Midway Lane, Cain Street, and Lane Street. The problem has been exacerbated by a broken pipe as well as water runoff from businesses in neighboring townships.
Council members have already acknowledged the pressing need for both an immediate temporary fix and a comprehensive long-term solution. However, they are limited to either passing legislation or providing recommendations. The responsibility for any concrete action ultimately falls upon the Mayor and the Safety Director.
During the meeting, residents are hoping to learn about the progress being made in tackling the issue of flooding that has plagued their community.
