Trumbull County Prosecutor opposes parole of man convicted child sex crimes spanning decades
Trumbull County Prosecutor, Dennis Watkins has expressed opposition for a man convicted of sex crimes against multiple children over multiple decades to have the chance of parole.
According to the letter, William Wane Fisher is scheduled for a parole hearing in August. In a previous letter opposing Fisher's parole in 2013, Watkins described him as "a new worst of the worst."
Watkins says Fisher raped multiple children over the course of the 1970s, 80s and 90s, including members of his family and has been locked up for nearly 30 years with 12 felony convictions.
Over the course of his crimes, Fisher fled Warren after being indicted in 1987, but came back in 1994 under a different name and raped even more children between the ages of six and 12 years old.
"If there were a sex offender hall of shame, Fisher would be there," Watkins said in his letter.
