Kravitz Deli has presented a $1,000 check to the Mahoning Valley Fatherhood Coalition.

According to a press release, Kravitz Deli sold pounds of its authentic cheeses and deli meats throughout the month of August, which is National Deli Month.

During this time the deli raised a total of $500 for the Fatherhood Coalition. Alongside that, Kravitz Deli owner, Matt Rydarowicz added an additional $500 donation for a total of $1,000 in funds.

The $1,000 check was presented to Fatherhood Coalition Executive Director, John-Michael Oliver at the Kravitz's Belmont Avenue location. In a press release, Rydarowicz says he chose this charity because fatherhood changed his life.

"I grew up without my father in my life every day, so when I found out I was going to have a child, I decided I was going to do things differently. I made serious changes and tough choices with my son in mind. I hope that this fundraiser can help others make similar decisions leading to better family success," Rydarowicz said.

Oliver emphasized the importance of community support for the Fatherhood Coaltion.

"The incredible work along with our mission to serve our community is all made possible by the generosity of donors and sponsors. It allows us to continue initiatives that focus on mentoring, fatherhood, financial literacy with credit repair and health and wellness," Oliver said.

Additionally, Rydarowicz held a thank you drawing as a way to give back to customers who added their own donations to the cause with a $50 Kravitz Deli gift cards up for grabs.

The winner of that drawing was Peter DeBenedicts of Brookfield, who is a regular at Kravitz Deli for their bagels.

Kravitz will continue its support of the Fatherhood Coalition during National Sandwich Day on Friday, November 3.
