Mid America Pet Food is recalling a popular dog food over salmonella concerns.
The company is voluntarily recalling certain five-pound bags of Victor Super Premium Dog Food, Hi-Pro Plus that were produced at its Mount Pleasant, Texas facility.
The 644 cases sold in five-pound bags were distributed to retailers throughout the U.S. and contain the lot code 1000016385 with the best-by date of April 30, 2024.
No other products are included in the recall.
Salmonella infections can cause pets to be lethargic and have diarrhea, fever or vomiting. Some could experience decreased appetite or abdominal pain as well.
At this point, no human or animal illnesses have been reported.
If you have any of the recalled products, throw the food away, sanitize pet bowls, cups and water containers and clean your hands after handling any of the recalled food.
