Buffalo Games is recalling approximately 52,000 units of its "Ultimate Water Beads Activity Kit" following a report to the company that a 10-month-old child died following the ingestion of the water beads in July of 2023.

The company sold the products exclusively at target stores, and says that the affected units were sold online and in store between March and November of 2022 for about $15.

This recall involves the Chuckle & Roar Ultimate Water Beads Activity Kit. On the front of the purple container, the label states Ultimate Water Beads Activity Kit. It includes: 2 ounces of “jumbo” water beads and 6 ounces of “regular” water beads. Along with a clear container and lid, there are five small toy fish, a scissor scoop, tweezers, a scoop with a handle, 10 activity cards and instructions. The activity kit was sold in a purple box with UPC Number 079346627035 on the back.

The recall says that anyone with affected product should stop using it immediately and take the water beads away from children. Then, customers can contact Buffalo Games for a full refund and instructions on how to return the product in a prepaid mailing package supplied by Buffalo Games. The product can also be returned directly to any Target store.

Consumers can reach Buffalo Games toll-free at 800-637-0732 from 9am to 4:30pm on weekdays, or by email at beadrecall@buffalogames.com. You can also find more information online at https://chuckleandroar.com/recall.
