Mobile Mammography Unit to offer services around Valley for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is breast cancer awareness month, and Mercy Health - Youngstown is doing their part to make prevention and detection services accessible for women in the Mahoning Valley.

The Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center Mobile Mammography Unit will travel around the Valley throughout the month of October, offering accurate prevention, early detection, diagnosis and support services to those who pay it a visit.

To perform the mammogram, the mobile unit uses the same technology and equipment that is used in the breast care center's brick-and-mortar office. It's the first mobile unit in the area to offer 3D mammography for a more thorough examination. 

The Mobile Mammography Unit will offer screenings on the following dates at locations in Mahoning and Trumbull Counties:
