Warren woman charged with abuse of corpse after death of baby

A Warren woman has been charged after police investigated the death of a baby at her home.
A warrant was issued for 33-year-old Brittany Watts on Wednesday after a prosecutor filed one felony count of abuse of a corpse in Warren Municipal Court.
According to a police report, an officer was called to Watts' home on the 3300 block of Tod Avenue NW on the afternoon of Friday, September 22 for a death investigation.
The report identifies the victim as Baby Watts, with a date of birth listed as the same day police were called to the home. The report said the baby, gender unknown, had been injured.
Detectives and the county coroner's investigator were called to the home to collect evidence.
