Ohio Governor Mike DeWine's office has announced on Friday, October 6 that Trumbull County has received $578,000 for the Community Development Block Grant Program.
According to documentation from the Trumbull County Planning Commission, this funding was requested in May of 2023. 20% of this funding must go towards Fair Housing and Administration, leaving a balance of $462,400 for up to three eligible projects.
A total of five submitted projects are eligible to receive funding from this grant, but only three can be chosen.
These projects include improvements to the Howland SCOPE Center, work on the Girard Multigenerational Center Gym roof, work on Emmanuel Community Care Center's masonry and windows, storm drain improvements for Liberty Township and street improvements for Weathersfield Township.
Of these five projects, the Howland SCOPE Center will receive $271,100, the Emmanuel Community Care Center will receive $96,610 and the Girard Multigenerational Center will receive $94,690.
