Small businesses in Youngstown participate in 'Belmont Blitz' leading up to Sweetest Day

Two small businesses on Belmont Avenue in Youngstown will be participating in the October Belmont Blitz leading up to Sweetest Day.

Between October 17 and October 21, folks can stop by Goldie's Flower Shop and BodyGoodies to find something for their special someone.

Anyone who mentions the Belmont Blitz during this time will get a free gift and will be entered to win a free raffle basket in December. Customers can purchase additional raffle tickets for $5.

The Building a Better Belmont coalition will have tickets for sale and requests can be made by reaching out via Facebook.

Goldie's Flowers began operating in 1952 and is the second oldest Black-owned business in Youngstown selling flowers and gifts for any special occasion.

Meanwhile, BodyGoodies is a woman-owned business that's been operating for 12 years centered around owner, Heidi Goldberg's desire to "eliminate toxins, preservatives and chemicals commonly found in everyday body care products and help individuals with a simpler, cleaner skincare routine."

The Belmont Blitz initiative builds on the success of the Building a Better Belmont coalition's Bike Belmont event held back in May. On the third Saturday of the month, the Blitz will promote and spotlight small businesses on Belmont Avenue.
