A Youngstown woman is currently behind bars after police say she drove into oncoming traffic with two children in her vehicle during a police chase Tuesday evening.

According to a police report from Campbell PD, police tried to initiate a traffic stop near Gladstone Street and Woodland Avenue after a woman, later identified as 33-year-old Alicia Davis failed to stop at a stop sign.

Police began pursuing the vehicle and were able to slow it down, but police say Davis continuously tried to pass officers' cruisers driving off the road and even into oncoming traffic nearly striking several vehicles including a police cruiser.

Eventually, police were able to block Davis from advancing any further, and once she stopped she was ordered to put her hands up, but police say she would not comply.

Police say there were two children in the vehicle with one in the front passenger seat and another in the back seat. The children were 10 and 11 years old according to the report.

According to the report, officers tried to pull Davis out of the vehicle, but she continued to resist. Police say they had to physically move her hands in order to get her out.

Police say once Davis was placed under arrest and placed in the cruiser, the children were "hysterically screaming." The children are currently in the care of their godmother.

Upon conducting a probable cause search of the vehicle once the officers' K9 detected the smell of narcotics, police found multiple vaporizers containing THC oil a plastic bag of marijuana and a plastic tube containing a marijuana cigarette.

Davis is charged with two counts of endangering children, failure to comply, resisting arrest, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
