The 11th District Court of Appeals upheld the convictions and two life sentences of a child rapist.
26-year-old Darrl Mack was sentenced in April to two consecutive terms of life in prison without parole after being found guilty of three counts of rape and three counts of gross sexual imposition.
Mack was arrested in September 2022 for several incidents that occurred in 2021 where Mack engaged in sexual contact with three victims, aged six, eight and nine years old.
An indictment states that Mack "purposely compelled the victim[s] by force or threat of force."
According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, in his appeal to the 11th District Court, Mack and his attorney raised nine assignments of error made by the trial court. However, Judge Matt Lynch wrote that all defendant claims of trial errors were without merit.
Judge Lynch's opinion was joined by fellow 11th District judges John Eklund and Robert Patton.
Mack will remain incarcerated at Belmont Correctional Institution.
