Newton Falls man dies in crash on Rt. 5 Bypass in Bazetta

A Newton Falls man is dead after his car was rear-ended by a garbage truck Friday morning along the Route 5 Bypass in Bazetta Township.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 3:35 AM on State Route 5 near the Elm Road exit.

Thirty-six-year-old Bo Angel was in the driver's seat of a Ford Escape that became disabled and stopped in the right-hand lane of State Route 5.

A garbage truck driven in the eastbound lane by Bryan Wilson, Jr., 34, of Warren,  struck the Escape from behind and spun the SUV 360 degrees. Both vehicles came to rest on the shoulder.

Angel died at the scene of the crash. The truck driver suffered minor injuries.

Angel had telephoned the Trumbull County 911 Center to report his disabled vehicle and officers were en route to assist him when the crash happened.

The crash remains under investigation
