East Palestine Council to meet Monday to discuss feedback on improvements to village park

East Palestine Village Council will be holding a special meeting Monday night to discuss feedback and suggestions given for an over $25 million project from Norfolk Southern to improve the village's park in response to February's train derailment.
This meeting is a follow-up to an initial meeting conducted December 6 where residents of the village offered up suggestions on what they want to see in the upgraded park.
During the December 6 meeting, some residents offered suggestions for new attractions like an indoor pool, potential garden space and a reserved space for food trucks.
Others suggested improvements to the park like more handicapped-accessible playground equipment and repurposing the former girl scout cabins.
The meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday.
