Former YSU football player Ogletree placed on NFL Commissioner's Exempt List for domestic battery charge

Former Youngstown State University tight end and current Indianapolis Colt Drew Ogletree was arrested Friday on allegations of domestic violence.

Ogletree was arrested Friday in Hendricks County, Indiana on charges of domestic violence committed in the presence of a child less than 16 years old an domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, both level-six felonies.

According to our NBC affiliate WTHR, the incident between Ogletree and the female victim began when the woman looked at Ogletree's phone and noticed he had been cheating on her and broke the phone. The court document says Ogletree picked up the victim, lifted her to about shoulder height and slammed her to the ground.

Following his arrest, Ogletree was placed on the Commissioner's Exempt List by the NFL. Players on the list are not allowed to play or practice but are still paid.

As of Sunday afternoon, Ogletree is still being held in the Hendricks County Jail without bond.

Ogletree played two seasons at YSU, recording 40 receptions for 391 yards. He was drafted in the 6th round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Colts.

He did not play in his rookie season after suffering a torn ACL in training camp. He has played in 12 games (nine starts) this season, catching nine passes for 147 yards and two touchdowns.
