Warren man accused of raping minor on Christmas Eve, Christmas

 A Warren man has been charged for allegedly raping a minor on Christmas Eve and Christmas in Champion Township.

David Varner, 46, is accused of raping a minor younger than 13 years old, according to a criminal complaint filed in the Warren Municipal Court.

Varner was arraigned on Jan. 1 in Patricia Knepp's court. He plead not guilty to the offense.

Chief Larry Skaggs tells 21 News that his department was notified about the alleged incident at 1:35 p.m. on Christmas day.

His next court date is Jan. 11.
