WATCH: Patrol cruiser crashes during pursuit in Austintown

An Ohio State Highway Patrol cruiser was damaged after crashing during a pursuit along Route 11 in Austintown early Friday.

A trooper, along with police from Boardman and Austintown, were involved in chasing a Dodge Durango SUV at speeds up to 100 miles per hour at around 4 a.m. along the northbound lanes of State Route 11.

The driver of the SUV being chased was suspected of trying to steal a car from a Boardman car dealership.

After passing the Mahoning Avenue interchange, the OSP cruiser crashed on the ramp from Route 11 to Interstate 80 westbound. You can check out the dashcam video of the crash above.

Canfield Police also responded to the scene for mutual aid. 21 News has obtained body camera video from Canfield PD showing the aftermath of the crash. That can be seen below.

No one was injured. However, the ramp was shut down for about an hour.

As of Friday evening, police are still trying to locate the SUV and its driver.
