JCPenney in the Shenango Valley Mall will soon be shutting its doors for good.
A store manager tells 21 News that the store is tentatively scheduled to close on May 5, 2024.
Back in October, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania ruled in favor of Butterfli Holdings LLC, a company who had acquired the mall in August of 2022 and denying an appeal from JCPenney.
Butterfli Holdings is looking to create a "Vibrant City Center" on the mall property that is home to public spaces for a mixture of uses and entertainment.
This is the second JCPenney location in the Valley to announce close within the past year, with the Austintown location announcing its closure in March of 2023 and shutting its doors back in September.
