Bond set at $500,000 for suspect in murder of Youngstown teen

Bond has been set on Tuesday for the suspect in the murder of a Youngstown teen back in April of 2023.

Bond for 17-year-old Danyo Sellers, who also went by the alias of "Legend Pless" was set at $500,000 during an arraignment hearing in the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas on Tuesday.

While Sellers is still a juvenile, he's being charged as an adult with murder, felonious assault, involuntary manslaughter and improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle.

The charges stem from the April 15 murder of 15-year-old Amya Monserrat in a drive-by shooting at a Sweet 16 birthday party at Martha's Boulevard Tavern on Southern Boulevard in Youngstown.

Sellers is one of two suspects in the murder with the other suspect, 21-year-old Saun Peterson pleading guilty to his role in the murder back in November.

A jury trial for Sellers is set to begin January 22 according to court records.

Danyo Sellers
