The results are in for Ohio's 2024 muzzleloader deer hunting season and one Valley County has made it into the top 11.
Columbiana County has made it into the top 11 counties with the highest harvest totals this time around reporting 309 deer harvested. They are tied with Belmont County with this number.
Others in the top 11 include Coshocton taking the top spot with 453 deer harvested, Tuscarawas County with 416, Muskingum County with 389, Licking County with 363, Knox County with 352, Carroll County with 342, Guernsey County with 335, Harrison County with 327 and Ashtabula County with 323.
Meanwhile in Mahoning and Trumbull Counties, Mahoning reported 145 deer harvested and Trumbull reported 250 harvested this year.
In total, hunters checked 12,712 deer this muzzleloader season (January 6-9) and 203,608 across all seasons this year as of January 9. This season marks the last time in 10 years that the total season harvest surpassed 200,000 deer. The last time this happened was the 2022-23 season.
