North Carolina man indicted for having sexual conduct without disclosing he was carrier of virus that causes AIDS

A man from North Carolina has been indicted on a felonious assault charge in Mahoning County.

According to the indictment, 61-year-old Ronald Lewis McFarland is accused of having sexual conduct with another man without disclosing that he had tested positive as a carrier of a virus that causes AIDS before the sexual conduct.

The indictment said the incident occurred in Mahoning County between May 18, 2021, and March 29, 2023.

McFarland is accused of knowing he was a virus carrier beforehand.
