East Liverpool music store going out of business after 25 years

A music store in East Liverpool will soon be closing its doors after serving customers for 25 years.

According to a post on the store's Facebook page, DC Music in East Liverpool will close its doors in the coming months. In the post, store owners say the reason for the closure is to spend more time with their families and move on to the next chapter in life.

Despite this, co-owners Dave and Zach Byers will still be working in local business, as the two also own and operate the neighboring Mattress Emporium, which will remain open.

In the months leading up to the store's closure, the store will be doing a going-out-of-business sale with the store saying, "Everything must go."

"We are selling off ALL of our stock of nearly a half million dollars of retail music gear. This is an amazing time to save on music gear during this wall-to-wall selloff," the post reads.

Music lessons will continue in January as scheduled. Anyone receiving lessons should talk to their instructors, as they may continue to offer lessons elsewhere after the closure.

Repairs will continue as usual as long as the store remains open, and staff will continue to take on new repairs. Gift cards must be used by the end of February. The post states there should be no issues with layaways, but customers are asked to have them out by the end of January.

Those who have rented an instrument have two options. Return it by February 1 and close their rental, or stop by and pay the remaining difference off for half the price.

As for an actual closing date, that depends on how long it takes to liquidate the inventory. Staff anticipates the store to close within the next two to five months.
