It's almost time for folks in the Mahoning Valley to renew their dog licenses. However, depending on where you live, this deadline and how much you'll be paying may vary.
Mahoning County's deadline has been extended this year from January 31 to February 29. If you renew your license on time, you're looking at a $20 renewal fee. However, if you renew March 1 and beyond, you'll pay $40.
Meanwhile, Trumbull County's deadline has also been extended to February 29. However, the fees are slightly cheaper, with dog owners needing to pay $18 if they're on time and $36 if they're late.
Columbiana County's deadline has not been extended this year, meaning dog owners must renew their licenses by January 31.
However, owners in Columbiana County will also be paying the least money to renew their licenses, as the cost is just $12. Fees will double to $24 after this.
If you're late on registering, you will be subject to a penalty equal to the cost of the license or kennel license. Additionally, licenses can only be purchased at the county auditor's office or Columbiana County Dog Pound after the deadline.
