Valley has local connections to Super Bowl LVIII on both sides

The Youngstown area has connections to both the 49ers & Chiefs when the teams collide in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.

San Francisco is owned by the DeBartolo family reside in Mahoning County.  Denise DeBartolo York & Dr. John York are Co-chairs of the franchise and their son Jed, is the Chief Executive Officer. The younger York is a graduate of Cardinal Mooney.

Howland product Ryne Nutt is the director of players personnel for college scouting in the Chiefs front office.

Former YSU assistant and Cardinal Mooney product Donald D'Alesio is the safeties coach with the Chiefs.

D'Alesio is in his third season with Kansas City and second coaching the safeties.

Prior to arriving in Kansas City, he was a defensive analyst with LSU (2020), and prior to that, he was with the Penguins (2015-2019) as their defensive coordinator, defensive line coach & quality control coach.
