Body of missing boy found in Columbus

The body of a 5-year-old boy from Columbus has been found in the city.

Police canceled the Amber Alert for Darnell Taylor, announcing early Friday that the child's body was found in a drainage ditch on the Southwest side of Columbus.

A statewide Amber Alert was issued by police early Wednesday for Taylor, who was allegedly taken by his foster mother, 48-year-old Pammy Maye from a Columbus home shortly before 4 a.m.

Maye's husband told authorities that his wife told him that she had harmed the child. Maye has already been charged with child endangering and kidnapping.

The vehicle involved, a gray 2015 Jeep Cherokee was found abandoned by Brooklyn, Ohio Police where Maye was arrested later still in the nightgown she was last seen wearing.
