Belmont County highway construction update

The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Belmont County in the coming week.

State Route 7 will have lane restrictions in Bellaire as survey work takes place Monday, February 26. Work will also take place on Thursday, February 29 on State Route 27 southbound. During this time, one lane of traffic will be open between 9 A.M. and 4 P.M. This work is weather permitting.

On Monday, February 26, the Ohio Department of Transportation's contractor will replace the highway lighting at I-470 EXIT 3 for County Road 214. The work is going to take place from 7:30 A.M. until 5 P.M. During this time the on and off ramps at EXIT 3 will close intermittently as the crane replaces the existing light poles with new light poles.

I-470 traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction during this work. 

On March 4, construction work will begin to repair a slide on State Route 147 southwest of Barnesville near Ryan Road. During this project, traffic will be maintained using temporary traffic signals with a restriction on vehicles with a width larger than 11 feet. The completion date for this repair work is October 31, 2024.
