QUICKmed Urgent Care has announced a new program that will award three $1000 scholarships to aspiring healthcare professionals at Choffin Career and Technical Center.

These scholarships will be awarded to students studying practical nursing or surgical technologies and will be chosen by a representative of QUICKmed or designee based on academic merit, financial need, essay content, and commitment to serving diverse communities.

"QUICKmed Urgent Care believes in fostering a future where healthcare is accessible and inclusive for all. We are excited to invest in the next generation of healthcare professionals who share our values and dedication to making a positive impact," said CEO and Founder, Lena Esmail.

"Choffin Career and Technical Center Adult Education is pleased to announce that QUICKmed Urgent Care is providing needed scholarship funds to students registered in the areas of practical nursing and surgical technology. QUICKmed has continuously shown its support by building a community workforce in healthcare at Choffin Adult Education by providing clinical experiences for practical nursing students and having a representative serve on the practical nursing advisory board," said Dr. Sherry Cross, Adult Education Director at Choffin.

Eligible students can find the application by visiting QUICKmed's website here, or by visiting the Choffin CTC Financial Aid Office. Applications must be turned in to the Choffin Financial Aid Office and include current grades, proof of enrollment, documentation of financial aid, and a one-page essay on one of the following topics: the importance of healthcare access within rural and urban communities or the importance of healthcare professionals being of diverse backgrounds.

Applications are due by March 27, 2024.
