Niles real estate company planning for industrial park at former General Electric plant

A real estate company in Niles is eyeing the former General Electric plant for new developments for the property.

According to Altobelli Real Estate agent and broker Jason Altobelli, the company is looking to turn the current brownfield site into a new industrial park to potentially create new jobs for the area.

Altobelli tells 21 News that nothing has been finalized yet and the company is still in the preliminary stages of the project. Altobelli tells us he's hoping to attract industrial jobs or warehouses to the property.

Altobelli describes this development as a "tremendous opportunity" for the area.

21 News previously reported that this property would be purchased by the Cleveland Steel Container Corporation to build another 120,000-square-foot building to accommodate its operations.

However, Niles Mayor Steve Mientkiewicz tells us these plans fell through when the company decided not to go through with these plans.
