A New Castle man is facing charges after allegedly leading police on a chase through Lawrence County Tuesday morning.

According to the release, New Castle police were made aware that a car normally driven by two people with arrest warrants, Lucas Michael Rubin and Alexis Rubin, was spotted in the area of W Washington and S Beaver Streets around 1:08 a.m.

An officer went to the area and found the car being driven by a man fitting Lucas Rubin's description.

The officer attempted to stop the car on S Jefferson Street when the car began to drive away. The officer pursued the white Hyundai SUV through Taylor and Shenango Townships before going back into New Castle.

According to the release, speeds reached 110 miles per hour during the chase.

The pursuit ended when Rubin's car crashed into an embankment on Addis Street behind 1502 E Washington Street. Lucas Rubin ran from the car and has not been arrested.

The front-seat passenger, Alexis Rubin, was taken to UPMC Jameson for minor injuries and was booked into the Lawrence County Jail. The back-seat passenger was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown for treatment and is not facing charges.

Lucas Rubin has a felony warrant for forgery and will face additional charges connected to the pursuit.
