Pennsylvania state representative Parke Wentling announced that $1.05 million is being awarded to the Sharon City School District from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
The money will be used to help establish safe, supportive, and healthy learning environments while also helping prevent and respond to acts of bullying and violence.
"As a former teacher and father of school-age children, I understand the importance of a secure and welcoming learning environment," said Wentling. "This grant will help Sharon City schools as they continue to provide a positive learning atmosphere for our students."
This funding is being awarded through the federal Bipartisan Safer Communities Act's Stronger Connections Grant.
