Report: Jed York to take over principal owner title of 49ers

The Sports Business Journal reports 49ers CEO Jed York is going to become the principal owner of the NFL franchise.

The change needs approval from NFL owners and its expected during their meetings this week in Florida.

The reports says its not known how muck Jed York will own individually after the deal but he is buying enough equity from his mother, Denise DeBartolo York .

The SBJ says York will oversee both the football and business operations of the team while DeBartolo York and her husband Dr. John York will continue as shareholders.
