The football stadium in East Liverpool is underwater due to the recent days of rain.
School officials estimate four inches of water covers the artificial turf at Patterson Field.
According to athletic director Jason Duke, a valve that blocks a drain from the river is closed once the river reaches a certain level and this is water from the hills near the stadium.
"None of this is backwash from the river which is a great thing," said Duke.
School officials anticipate no damage from the water but will inspect once the water recedes.
