The Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini Foundation will be hosting its 5th annual "The Ellen Mancini Memorial Bowl" event.
This year's event will be at Boardman lanes 7524 Market St, Boardman Ohio.
The first leg of bowling will start at 3 P.M. and the second will begin at 7:00 P.M.
The proceeds from the event will go to Demetrius Lockett and his family. Demetrius is a 14-year-old who has been battling leukemia since just before Christmas last year.
Demetrius is currently in remission, but still has to deal with the lingering effects leukemia has had on him and his family. Despite health issues he is currently facing such as vision issues and kidney issues, Demetrius continues to embrace life to the fullest.
He is a passionate sports enthusiast and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and wants to learn karate.
Through the generosity of the community, the Mancini Foundation has been able to buy the family a car. It also hopes to raise enough money to also buy other items like clothing, household items, and giftcards for groceries and gas.
On top of bowling, a basket raffle will also be held.
