Ohio National Guard to conduct training near Newton Falls, explosions may be heard

Newton Falls residents may hear some explosions for the next few days, but the Ohio National Guard is assuring residents there is no need to panic.

Residents living near the Camp James A. Garfield Joint Military Training Center may hear sounds of explosions and gunfire from the area between Wednesday, April 10 and Sunday, April 14.

This is because the training center will be conducting explosives and hand grenade training during this time.

Sounds from the explosions may be hear from farther away than what occurs during normal operations.
